Janet Tyler Johnson-

My name is Janet Tyler Johnson. I am a Certified Financial Planner® professional, an author, speaker, President of JATAJ Wealth Management and founder of Corporate Hostage, No More!

I am also a recovering “Corporate Hostage”.

In 2005, I left my prestigious corporate job as the head of the financial planning and investment management division of the 12th largest CPA firm in the U.S. to start my own firm.

I was very successful by any measure in corporate America. I had spent 10 years in the CPA world, and prior to that spent 15 years working in other financial services firms. But I’d had it. I was stressed out, burned out, and definitely not living the life I was meant to live.

I am very entrepreneurial at heart so it was well past time for me to get honest with myself and escape the confines of corporate America to start my own business.

By the time I started my firm in 2005 I had 25 years in the financial services industry. I took those decades of learning and wisdom and put them to use building a client-focused, high-service, high-tech financial planning and investment management firm, JATAJ Wealth Management, that I’m proud to say is very successful.

I am also the founder of a complimentary business by the name of Corporate Hostage, No More! where I offer coaching/mentoring services, energy healing sessions (I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Metaphysics), and run a membership site. Through this business I host a weekly podcast show, also named Corporate Hostage, No More! which is available on the website and at iTunes and Stitcher Radio.

And, in addition, I am the author of the book, Finding Financial Fulfillment for a Life Filled With Money and Meaning

Even after over three decades, I am more passionate about my work than I have ever been and have no plans for retirement. I mean, why would I want to stop doing something I enjoy so much that brings so much meaning to my life?

But my work is not all consuming. I do love technology and all of my businesses are virtual but I also enjoy playing with my fur babies, singing and playing the piano, knitting, reading, jewelry making, traveling and dining out.

After 25 years in corporate America, and several years of dreaming about living and working in the Southwest, my husband and I relocated from the Midwest to the beautiful Land of Enchantment (New Mexico) in 2015 and are living the life of our dreams.

Through the blending of all the practical and spiritual tools at my disposal, it would be my honor to help you do the same.

Devani Anjali Alderson-

My name is Devani Anjali Alderson.  This is pronounced: Day-Vah-knee.

Hello! I suppose people like to know who writes the tiny black letters here.

Could be a little leprechaun… or maybe a unicorn.  Honestly, it depends on the day as to what form I take.  So as not to frighten you too much, I’ve decided to go with human form today.

My background is in building and cultivating online communities that are engaged in inspiring activities such as business, arts, writing, and inspiration.

My personal hobbies include writing dystopic & sci-fi novels, shooting things with my Canon camera, and contemplating our existence… or when I can have nachos without feeling bad about myself.

This blog is more dedicated to sporadic musings about life, the universe, and the chaotic life of a left & right brained individual.   When I write an article, my goal is to try and bridge the gap between what I experience and what the world seems to be.  I would like to use these thoughts to connect with other people who contemplate life, their relation to the cosmic existence, and how we can use our unique gifts to help move humanity forward.

I would like to use these thoughts to connect with other people who contemplate life, their relation to the cosmic existence, and how we can use our unique gifts to help move humanity forward.

If this sounds like your thing – hop aboard!

If not, that’s okay. I hope you find your tribe … or build it!

Upward & Onward!

Matt Crocamo -

Dig in to the physical, behavioral, and cultural aspects of what it is to be a human animal with personal trainer & credentialed writer Matt Crocamo Jr.(@MatthewJBetter). He’s spent years honing the easiest way to live right in spite of the many things in our way – the drive-thru, a logjammed scheduled, or the ultimate saboteur – the human brain.

The topics and themes that almost resemble segments on his podcast, Better Health and World, include:

Trainer Training – advice from the credentialed health professional himself about fitness, especially for newbies;

Healthy Living Easy, in which he and his fellow health enthusiasts discuss streamlining good food and fitness into a super busy lifestyle;

No More Pacifiers (AKA Don’t Be Pavlov’s Dog), where they talk about overcoming the dumb little things, like nicotine and refined sugar, that gave us a false, distracting, and futile sense of satisfaction; and

Dessert! Once they’ve consumed the healthy health topics, hear Matt and company get into movies, television, and other cultural reflections of our humanity.

Why me?

Ever since my once- chubby fingers could hold a crayon, I’ve felt the need to create things, communicate with the masses, and ultimately contribute to the betterment of humanity.

I graduated from Towson University magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s in English. (It would have been the loftier “cum laude” if not for the only “C” I got at the school; I will curse you forever, “Science Fiction Writing.” [the class, not the practice])

In Academia, I was a thrice-published poet, a columnist for two publications, and the entertainment editor for my high school newspaper.

I’ve interned at the Baltimore City Paper, Bello Machre, and Sheppard Pratt Health System. (My English degree was almost a psychology degree; I was a member of the honors society for psychology students at my junior college.)

Since then, I have:

  • Freelanced for a prominent marketing firm – the one that turned the front of a downtown Baltimore parking garage into a giant can of Old Bay;
  • Founded and produced a regional newsletter (THOUSANDS of eyeballs) to enhance the morale and performance of employees for one of the biggest names in hospitality;
  • Won prestigious sales contests AND designed my own which increased the sale of target items;
  • Cultivated countless relationships with EVERY kind of person after years and years (and years) in the service industry;
  • Substitute taught for Anne Arundel County Public Schools for several years (and got a taste of what it's like to be a correctional officer); and
  • Written grant materials, canvassed, and phone banked for a variety of nonprofit organizations (I was a finalist last year for a Baltimore Corps fellowship.).

I am your everyman! Please join us. You’re always welcome. My fellow health enthusiasts and I love you all.

-Matthew Crocamo Jr.

Also, check out the other show on our network, Better Fight Cast, for your tightest coverage of the UFC and all things mixed martial arts for rookie fight fans AND you seasoned vets. He’s been living and breathing the fights since he was a kid scouring video store shelves for Pride VHS tapes. To help us bridge the gap between fans new and old, Gabrielle Tambaoan (@Gabby_T) is somewhere between a historian of the sport and a rookie like myself (ANNND another fellow health enthusiast!).
